What’s been happening:

Although I studied pre-medicine and biology in college, I chose to take a less traditional path in my choice of career. I received my commission in the U.S. Navy through the 2-year NROTC College Program and was commissioned upon graduation in May 1977. A career Naval Officer (intelligence) for 22 years, I served in a variety of jobs in the Washington, DC area, Italy, Spain and Hawaii and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. I retired in June 1999 and have lived in Springfield, Virginia since then. I am married and have five children, ranging in age from 30 to 18 years old, and one 2 year old grandchild. Since my retirement from the military, I have been very active in the community doing volunteer work for a local charity, running fundraisers for the high school crew team, and serving as Programs/Membership Director for an adult rowing club. For the last two years I have also worked as an office manager and master Esthetician for a skin care spa, which has been very rewarding and enjoyable work. My individual pursuits include rowing (sculling), fencing and archery. I am also an avid gardener and reader. I was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma women's fraternity at Penn State nearly 35 years ago and have served as an advisor for the Zeta Mu chapter at Virginia Tech since 2005. It's been a wonderful way to reconnect with the sisterhood.
